…This is how putting up a pegboard in my office turned into spending 3 days hand embroidering the cover of a needle book.
“…I would finish up a costume during the day, and film two of them later that evening once my partner was off of work.”
“Approximately 5 hours into editing Adobe Rush crashed on me … this time I could not open the video. I could see the video … but the video would not open.”
I knew that I would not be going anywhere for Halloween in 2020, However an idea bubbled up in my mind…"Teapot cosplay" … I had to make it a reality.
I enjoyed it so much that when Ren in the Glen asked me to be a part of their Fairy Court the next year I quickly agreed!
If you were asked to choose an animal to perform as for an online dance show what would you pick? Maybe your favorite animal, or something snazzy that a lot of people will connect with and recognize. Well this dancer with a zoology degree decided to get a little obscure…
Nothing beats a comfortable cosplay, but when I showed the completed outfit to my friend at the con she said "Those are clothes! You made clothes!" Which is my favorite cosplay complement to date.
When determining the length I saw that I should multiply my final length by three to account for shrinkage while braiding. I don't know what happened but that was a BIG mistake…

I latched on to Jean Grey from the X-Men series right away. She was smart, very powerful, and kind. When the 3rd movie came out, I was entranced by her transformation. I made the Phoenix cosplay not too long after my dad and I saw the movie together, and wore it to multiple comic cons in Michigan and Minnesota. It's one of my favorite cosplays I have made.
After recognizing the signs of burnout in myself I made myself pack away the unfinished cosplays, set aside the projects I was stressing over, and took a break from crafting. You know, the thing I’m trying to build a business doing. It sucked, and I didn’t want to do it.
Not long after that, the volunteer coordinator came up with a really fun idea to make a Dryad Quest for patrons to participate in. I dived in head first to help out with that since I had already planned on making a dryad character! I offered to design the costumes for all of the dryads and help them make decisions when planning their costuming.
